My Term So Far....

Mini Project No.1
We began the term by compiling a mood board, we were given the topics: Spice, Classical, Tutti Frutti, Rococco and Surreal and were asked to pick one and research the meaning, and colours used to represent the topic. As my initial interests usually lie in anything candy coloured, bright and eye catching I chose the topic Tutti Frutti. I gathered my research via the net and magazines and presented my findings as a collage on the foam board. This being my first theme board ever made, I felt it was a good start but I was unprepared when it came to fabric swatches and having looked at my other classmates efforts I felt a little disappointed with mine. : (

Mini Project 2.
I began my second project with open eyes and with more enthusiasm I had seen that there was a lot of talent within my class and I was not about to come second best to my colleges!!!
The project was entitled 'Organic' and also 'Ruffles and Folds'. We were asked to research the work of an artist called Dale Chihuly, a glass sculptur who uses inspiration from sea life and nature.

His work really inspired me and so I set out to create an ensemble that really captured the movement and colours of his work.
I looked at designers who also use ruffles and folds within their present collections and contributed these findings within my designs.
